Now we want to describe the capital of Russia - Moscow. Any town of great Russia is extraordinarily beautiful and unique. To tell you about them is a great pleasure.
Moscow - the capital of Russia
Moscow has a moderate continental climate. Too cold or too hot weather is not typical for Moscow, but deviations happen quite often. Long thaws happen in December, and in summer, hot weather is interrupted by long cold spells and incessant rain.
Moscow lies on the Moskva River in the west central European part of Russia 150 meters above sea level in-between the Oka and Volga rivers. The city and its suburbs are situated at the interfaces of Smolensko-Moskovskaya upland, Moskvoretsko-Okskaya plain and Mescherskaya lowland.
Moscow is a museum in the open air. There are ancient temples, mansions, palaces. Moscow is a modern European city, which in full measure preserved its national identity and inimitable image of the ancient capital of Russia. Moscow is many-sided and magnificent. It was constructed without any plan or computations; that's why the streets and side streets of old Moscow are so curved and narrow with small mansions standing very close to each other. Modern streets are wide and spacious with tall buildings glistening at night with neon signs. Moscow is situated at the interfaces of three natural areas with different landscapes. That's why the landscape of the north suburb is different from the south-west landscape. The contrasts are evident not only in the landscape but also in the weather. Moscow is the heart of Russia, and is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It boggles the imagination by the diversity and harmony prevailing among different styles and epochs. You will never forget the famous Cathedrals of Moscow Kremlin, graceful Blessed Basil temple, Red Square and Cathedral of Christ the Savior and adjoining skyscrapers - new high rise buildings, modern five-star hotels, shops, theatres, museums and casinos. Visit the most ancient Russian museum - the Armory of Moscow Kremlin, wander for some time in the hall of the world-famous State Tretyakov Gallery and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. They were founded by outstanding Muscovites. This list is endless; each museum collection will amaze you by its originality. Moscow is the theatre center as well. The city has more than thirty theatres, but the leading ones are the State Academic Bolshoy Theatre and the State Academic Malyi Theatre. On the stages of Moscow theatres, you can see the best classical and modern staging. Each person can find in Moscow many amazing things: no one will be bored here.
Animal lovers can visit the completely reconstructed Moscow Zoo, which now resembles a great fabulous town, and see its funny inhabitants. The children and their parents have the unique opportunity to see Moscow from a bird's-eye view, by climbing up to the observation deck of the Ostanskinskaya TV tower. The express elevator can lift you 350 meters above the city. You can walk on the glass floor of the viewing point. Rest in the "Seventh Heaven" restaurant and look at Moscow from above. You can do it in the daytime. And in the evening, when the shades of night fall on Moscow, for the lovers of night entertainment, the doors of discotheques, bars, casinos and clubs will be open.
