Visa to Russia - brief information
Depending on the type of visit to the Russian Federation and the objective for staying in the territory of the Russian Federation, a foreigner must obtain a visa, which can be a diplomatic, business, ordinary, transit or temporary resident visa. Depending on the type of visit to the Russian Federation and the objective for staying in the territory of the Russian Federation, ordinary Russian visas are subdivided into private, business, tourist, student, working, humanitarian visas, and visas to enter the Russian Federation to apply for asylum.
An ordinary private visa to Russia is issued for a period of up to three months. An ordinary business visa is issued for a period of up to one year. An ordinary tourist visa is issued for a period of up to one month.
The visa can be single entry, double entry and multiple entry.

Foreign citizens or people without citizenship must obtain and fill in a migration card when they enter the Russian Federation.
Foreign citizens must then register within three business days (including the day of arrival).
